How to read the catalog
Keys are defaults. Configurable ID identifies a keyboard.bindings entry; the record ID is a documentation link. Palette # is logical order: 33 fixed entries and three conditional ones: rename (#10), select all in an editable source (#24), and available npm update (#36). When a conditional entry is absent, later entries shift.
A record may group several keys for one action. Titles are translated for reference; some Explorer labels remain in Spanish. OpenTUI identifies inherited keys whose delivery depends on the terminal.
Action catalog
100 actions
No actions match those filters. Try another key or clear the filters.
Select all file contents
Select the entire active file without modifying it. Source editor focus only, outside searches and dialogs; also works with the Vim profile. The palette entry requires an active editable source.
Open command palette
Filter titles and shortcuts, ignoring case and accents. Opening it clears shared project-search state.
Quit
Checks all modified tabs and offers save, save and quit, or quit without saving.
Open session log
Open the selectable, read-only log and mark errors as read.
Open project folder
Open the root in a new Windows Explorer window or with xdg-open on Linux; requires a system file manager.
Refresh active pane
With Git focus: fetch and status according to settings. Otherwise: tree, rules and index; does not reload the central document.
Focus left pane
Git → Editor → Explorer. May reveal the destination pane.
Focus right pane
Explorer → Editor → Git. May reveal Git.
Cycle pane focus
Explorer → Editor → Git → Explorer. Modal inputs and Vim normal/visual modes may capture Tab first.
Toggle Explorer
Showing it focuses Explorer; hiding it returns focus to the editor.
Toggle Changes
Show and focus Git or hide it. In narrow windows this may hide the other side pane.
Create file
Uses the selected Explorer folder or the selected file’s parent. No subpaths or replacement of existing files.
Save file
Save active tab content, including Markdown/SVG preview. Detects external changes; source can be formatted first. Retains newer edits made during I/O.
Close file
Close the active tab; asks about pending changes. Does not quit the application.
Next tab
Cycle forward through open tabs. There is no corresponding OEC previous-tab command.
In Explorer, toggle the permanent filter between name/path and literal disk content with hierarchical results. In Editor, find text in the source buffer.
Search the whole project
Open literal text search of files saved on disk. Type and press Enter to run.
Toggle Markdown/SVG source and preview while retaining unsaved changes. In a diff, open the current file without closing the diff or restoring a revision. Manuals and raster images are not editable.
Toggle line wrapping
Toggle none/word for the session. Use Settings to save a persistent preference.
Format document
Project files in source view only, with an enabled formatter. The result changes the buffer; it does not save by itself.
Copy selection
Copy the selection through OSC 52, including selected text from the F12 log. Requires terminal support.
Paste clipboard
Insert text through PowerShell on Windows or wl-paste/xclip/xsel on Linux. Requires a mounted editable textarea.
Undo
Undo an edit in the active buffer. Does not undo filesystem or Git operations.
Redo
Redo an undone edit in the active buffer.
Duplicate line above
Duplicate the current logical line above and move the cursor to its copy. Active source editor only.
Duplicate line below
Duplicate the current logical line below; preserves line endings. Active source editor only.
Move by one page
Move the cursor by about one visible viewport minus one row, without selecting. In previews/manual these keys scroll the view.
Palette entry: runs fetch and local status reading; respects git.fetchOnRefresh and refreshes historical views.
Git: view commit history
With Git focus, open HEAD history in the right pane. The palette can open it from another focus.
Git: view all branches
List local and known remote branches. Does not check out or query every branch on the server.
Edit search exclusions
Available within file/project search or through the palette. Not a global shortcut. Changes last for the session.
Open settings
Palette: interface for wrap, line numbers, syntax, format on save and keyboard profile, at global or project scope.
Edit OEC configuration
Open global JSON in a special tab. Saving validates the complete document.
Edit project configuration
Open .oec/config.json. Supports partial overrides with schemaVersion 3 and parser restrictions.
Open OEC manual
Open the embedded Spanish or English summary as a read-only tab.
Count project lines
Palette: count readable text files and show per-file totals. Uses base rules, not temporary search exclusions.
Show massive files
Rank readable project files by descending line count (ties by path); follows root .gitignore, not session exclusions. Click the header to return to the tree.
Second palette entry for the same wrap toggle. It advertises Ctrl+Alt+W, but that shortcut has no default handler.
Update OEC to v…
Only appears when an npm update is available. Handles pending changes and exits 42; the launcher uses the public npm registry, keeps a temporary backup and relaunches the old binary if installation fails.
Rename entry
With an entry selected, open a prefilled dialog; Enter confirms, Esc cancels. Updates open tab paths and rejects collisions or subpaths. Only then appears in the palette.
Select entry
Move selection with boundaries, keeping it visible.
Open file or toggle folder
Open the file or expand/collapse the selected folder. Clicking a row also activates it.
Collapse folder
Only collapses an expanded folder; does not move to its parent.
Expand or collapse recursively
If expanded, collapse the folder and descendants; otherwise expand all subdirectories except .git. Large trees may take time.
Collapse entire tree
Leave root children visible and select the first entry.
Delete file or folder
Ask for confirmation. Folders are deleted recursively; affected dirty tabs block deletion. Does not use the recycle bin.
Select change or message
Navigate tree rows and the commit-message field. In the field, ↑ returns to the tree.
Open diff / create commit
On a folder toggle expansion; on a file open its diff; in the message field commit if there is text and visible staged changes.
Stage changes
Stage the selected local-change file, folder or group through git add.
Unstage / discard changes
In staged, remove from the index. In local changes, ask to discard: restore tracked files from the index and delete untracked files.
Pull remote changes
Run git pull in local mode; uses Git’s configured remote, credentials and strategy.
Push changes
Run git push in local mode. OEC does not provide a remote selector.
Toggle Git folder
Toggle expansion of the selected folder or group.
Collapse Git tree
Clear expansions in local changes mode.
Select Git repository
If the root is not inside Git and several nested repositories are found, Enter selects one; Esc from changes returns to the list. A sole repository is selected automatically.
Show or hide commit IDs
In commit history, toggle abbreviated IDs in rows; enabled by default and globally configurable.
Show or hide commit dates
In commit history, toggle visible dates for more subject space; enabled by default.
Select branch, commit or file
Navigate the active historical view. Rows are virtualized.
Advance / load more commits
Branch → commits → files → diff. On Load more, append a page without changing the pinned revision.
Go back in history
Files → commits → branches where applicable → local changes → repository list when several exist. Keeps diff tabs open.
Select search result
Select with boundaries in local, project, file and exclusion search.
Search / open result
Project: execute when there are no results, otherwise open the selection. Local: jump to line/column. Files: open the path and close the filter.
Close and clear search
Close and clear local/project/file search. In exclusions, return to the originating search.
Refresh file search
In the file filter, rebuild index and rules and repeat the query.
In exclusions, complete the input with the selected suggestion.
Toggle exclusion
Toggle the selected suggestion; when none exists, add the typed pattern. .git remains excluded.
Remove temporary pattern
Remove session patterns only; never edits .gitignore.
Select palette command
Select filtered palette results, without wrapping.
Execute palette command
Close the palette and execute the selected action.
Cancel dialog
Cancel palette, new file, confirmations or settings. Confirmations block background keyboard input.
Confirm new file
Trim the name and exclusively create an empty file. On error, keep the dialog.
Confirm new name
In the rename dialog, confirm the trimmed name or cancel. On failure the dialog stays open.
Choose confirmation option
Pending changes: save, save and continue, continue without saving. External conflict: reload, overwrite, cancel.
Accept confirmation
Execute the selected option. In delete/discard, confirm directly. For pending changes the initial choice is continue without saving.
Select setting
Navigate the five settings in the settings screen.
Select settings scope
Left selects global; right selects project.
Change and save setting
Toggle and persist the selected setting. Project scope may save a broad effective configuration, not just the changed property.
Edit scoped JSON
Open the selected global or project configuration file.
Enter normal mode
With the vim profile and an editable textarea, leave insert/visual mode and clear selection. The profile starts in insert mode.
Vim cursor movement
Left, down, up, right in normal/visual; visual extends selection.
Move by words
Next/previous word in normal or visual mode.
Line boundaries
Start/end of line. The 0 handler does not request visual selection extension.
Insert / append
From normal, enter insert mode; a first moves one character right.
Enter visual mode
From normal, enter visual mode. Full visual operators are not implemented.
Vim undo
Undo from normal mode.
Delete character / line
In normal, x deletes a character and dd deletes a line. No counts or registers.
Start of document
Move to buffer start. G is not advertised as working: its handler is shadowed in this version.
Movement and selection
Arrows move the cursor; Shift extends selection. Inherited from OpenTUI 0.5.1, subject to OEC routing.
Document boundaries
Start/end of buffer, not line; Shift selects to the boundary.
Line boundaries
Ctrl+E goes to line end; Shift variants select to start/end. Ctrl+A without Shift is reserved by OEC to select the entire file.
Visual line boundaries
Move or select to the ends of the wrapped visual line.
Word movement
Move by words. Meta+Shift extends selection; Ctrl+Shift+arrows is reserved by OEC for pane navigation.
Delete characters
Backspace deletes backward; Delete/Ctrl+D forward. Does not delete files from the editor.
Delete word
First group deletes the previous word; second deletes the next.
Delete line or segment
Delete the whole line, to end of line, or to start of line, respectively.
Insert newline
Insert a newline when search or a dialog does not capture it.
Alternative undo/redo
Additional textarea undo/redo bindings. Delivery depends on the terminal.
Select all
Inherited select-all binding; some systems capture Super before the terminal.
Super navigation
Left/right: visual line. Up/down: buffer. Shift extends selection if the terminal delivers the combination.
Focused scrollbox: arrows/j/k scroll; PageUp/Down half a viewport; Home/End boundaries. These are not textarea movements.
