Local editor environment

Run these commands in the openeditorcode repository, not the website. Bun >=1.3.0 is documented; CI uses 1.3.14. Keep the OpenTUI preload included in scripts.

Product setup and checksshell
bun install --frozen-lockfile
bun run dev

bun run typecheck
bun run test
bun run build

What existing tests verify

  • Filesystem/documents: UTF-8, binaries, limits, paths, exclusive creation, external changes, CRLF and concurrent opening.
  • TUI: layout, focus, palette, tabs, search, manual, preview and Git navigation through a test renderer.
  • Git: real-repository fixtures, stage/unstage, commits, workspace, pagination, merges, branches and historical mutation blocking.
  • Configuration/CLI/launcher: defaults, migration, backup, arguments and updates using mocked dependencies; the Bash installer has offline failure and rollback tests.

CI and coverage scope

The CI matrix covers Ubuntu and Windows: frozen lock, preflight, typecheck, coverage, build and smoke. Configured thresholds are 50% lines and 20% functions; TSX and clipboard are excluded from coverage.

Typecheck includes src, tests and build.ts, with skipLibCheck. One smoke checks MZ/ELF format; another reaches the first frame. The npm smoke uses --omit=optional to verify shims/notices, not installed binary startup.

Cases needing more evidence

The test renderer cannot distinguish every terminal modifier. Not every clipboard tool, graphics protocol or Vim movement is certified. SVG, filters, preview saving and document concurrency have specific regressions; publication checks must be confirmed by workflow, not inferred from this catalog.
